Welcome to REC.ZONE. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of https://rec.zone (the "Site"), operated by REC.ZONE ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

REC.ZONE is a community platform connecting players of the game Rec Room. It provides news, development updates, a members directory, a support system, and a real-time community chat.

1. Privacy

Your use of the Site is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Site. If you are under 18, you may only use the Site with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Site, you represent that you meet these age requirements.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to another person. You agree to notify us immediately at support@rec.zone if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or restrict access to the Site at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms, without prior notice.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms and our Community Rules. You agree that you will not:

  • Harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or abuse any other user
  • Post or transmit content that is hateful, obscene, illegal, or infringes upon any person's rights
  • Impersonate any person, entity, or REC.ZONE staff member
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, the server, or the database
  • Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any code intended to damage or disrupt systems
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Site without our written consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of the Site or its infrastructure
  • Spam, flood the chat, or engage in any behavior intended to degrade the experience of other users
  • Use the Site to advertise, solicit, or conduct any unauthorized commercial activity
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law

We reserve the right — but not the obligation — to monitor content posted on the Site and remove any material at our discretion, including chat messages, profile content, and uploaded media.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post on REC.ZONE. By posting content (including messages, profile information, images, and other uploads), you grant REC.ZONE a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Site.

You represent that you own or have the right to post any content you submit, and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law. We are not responsible for user-generated content and expressly disclaim any liability arising from it.

Content you post in the public chat is visible to all logged-in members. Exercise appropriate caution when sharing personal information publicly.

6. Intellectual Property

All original content on the Site — including but not limited to logos, design, graphics, text, and software — is the property of REC.ZONE and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any REC.ZONE content without express written permission.

7. Third-Party Accounts and Links

The Site allows you to connect third-party accounts (such as Discord) to your REC.ZONE profile. By doing so, you acknowledge that information may be exchanged with those services in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies. REC.ZONE is not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.

The Site may contain links to external websites. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for those sites or their content.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

REC.ZONE has a team of moderators and administrators responsible for enforcing these Terms and our Community Rules. We reserve the right to warn, mute, suspend, or permanently ban any account — and to remove any content — at our discretion. Severe violations (including illegal activity, threats, or repeated abuse) may result in an IP-level ban and, where required, referral to law enforcement.

If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting support@rec.zone. We will review your appeal but are not obligated to reverse any decision.

9. Electronic Communications

By using the Site or contacting us by email, you consent to receiving communications from us electronically. You agree that such electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be in writing.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REC.ZONE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REC.ZONE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF — OR INABILITY TO USE — THE SITE, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR ANY OTHER HARM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE SITE IS TO STOP USING IT.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless REC.ZONE and its staff from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site that cannot be resolved informally shall be settled by binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration shall take place on an individual basis — class actions and collective proceedings are not permitted. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. You consent to jurisdiction in Washington for any matter not subject to arbitration.

14. Donations and Payments

REC.ZONE accepts voluntary donations through Ko-fi, a third-party platform. By making a donation you agree to the following:

  • All donations are voluntary and non-refundable. Once a donation is processed, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including but not limited to dissatisfaction with the Site, account termination or banning, or discontinuation of the Site.
  • Donations do not constitute a purchase of goods or services and do not entitle you to any guaranteed benefit, feature, or perk in return.
  • Donations are processed by Ko-fi and subject to Ko-fi's own terms of service and privacy policy. REC.ZONE is not responsible for payment processing errors or disputes handled by Ko-fi.
  • If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at support@rec.zone before initiating a chargeback. Fraudulent chargebacks may result in a permanent account ban.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The most current version will always be available at https://rec.zone/terms. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
